Sumak Kawsay is a Quechua philosophy that speaks of living in harmony with nature, community, and the abundance that comes from balance rather than excess.

Each of the seven works is entirely handmade using materials that have been thoughtfully gathered and transformed by hand.

At its heart is a hand-carved block of Cachimbo wood, a remarkable tree native to the Peruvian Amazon that can reach heights of 45–60 meters. Rather than serving as a conventional frame, the carved wood becomes part of the composition itself, allowing the cotton fibers to pass through it and continue beyond its boundaries—an expression of life that extends beyond what is contained.

A hand-knotted textile, crafted from 100% natural cotton cord, is suspended from carefully curated driftwood and layered over handmade cotton paper with naturally deckled edges. Every knot is tied by hand, every surface bears the subtle marks of the artisan, and every material retains its own natural character.

No industrial processes. No two pieces alike.

The uninterrupted movement of the cotton threads evokes continuity, growth, and the invisible connections that bind us to the natural world. Together, wood, fiber, paper, and driftwood become a quiet meditation on abundance, simplicity, and permanence.

Each artwork is an original and forms part of a limited collection of only seven pieces, individually designed and handcrafted.
